These things have most certainly paid for themselves in the time I’ve had them on my car. They do a great job at scaring the hell out of me while I’m driving along blasting my stereo. All of the sudden the music stops and a loud BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP alerts you to slow down. I know I’ve been hit speeding, but I quickly slow down, turn off the jammer and let them tag me doing the speed limit and all has turned out well.

The only thing that I don’t like, which is why I gave it 4 stars, is that it’s a pain to install and mount correctly (probably depends on the car.)

I live in a college town and communte downtown past two areas constantly monitored by speed trap motorcycle cops.

Our city (Eugene OR) has one detective for property crime but evidently has enough officers to overpatrol a few lucrative areas . Documents dated back to 1981 correctly label one of these (Jefferson bridge) a speed trap, and recommended against continuing the city’s speed limit exemption due to potential abuse. These recommendations were overriden for no discernable reason by a police chief unconnected to the Speed Review panel.

I had a safe record until 2 years ago, when, within the space of a month I got tagged for two tickets. One was for 7 miles above the speed limit while driving a rental car.

The second was 4th of July weekend during a massive speed trap on the abovementioned area, with seven motorcycle cops being radioed by a single officer hitting cars at a rate of one per 5 minutes!

That’s when I got the Blinder. I had it installed because the angle of the front mounted sensors is very important. Plus they did a great job of integrating the buttons into the console so they’re inconspicuous. Since it’s legal in this state it’s not a problem.

The light will not get you but the sound will! I had the Blinder on for a few weeks before it got triggered. Although the unit gives a brief ‘peep’ when it’s armed, hearing that thing go off continuously will definitely get your attention!

I am not going to get into specifics, but it works as advertised. If you’re over the speed limit and you get hit, hit the kill switch and slow down. The next time you get tagged you’ll be fine. Evidently it takes a few seconds for the unit and the Lidar to re-arm.

I feel a twinge of guilt using this because I believe in the law. Yet the purpose of speeding laws are subverted when police unfairly use them as a cash register. This is only made worse by a Kangaroo Speeding court that presumes everyone’s guilt before innocence.

I haven’t had the opportunity to know that it is effectively jamming police LIDAR. However the unit was received in a timely manor. The package included all the needed hardware to install.

I will preface this review by stating that I do not currently own this particular model, I own the M20 Blinder (prev gen) and it is so good that I am on this site today to purchase the latest model (M25), knowing it can only be better. I am upgrading because the M20 has known punch through at around 100M whereas the M25 advertises no punch through all the way to the gun.

Based on my M20 experiences they are worth their weight in gold. I used to live in Atlanta GA and all they used were laser guns. Due to the 9 lane highways radar just wouldn’t work. I have always had my Valentine 1 radar detector but after moving to Atlanta and getting my first laser ticket I realized I had to do something.

About two weeks of research later I settled upon the M20 kit. Installation is a bit of a pain, esp if you have a car without a proper grill, but I managed. In the 3yrs I lived in Atlanta it had 0 false alerts and blocked 4 laser attempts.

One of the attempts was truly incredible to me, in Atlanta they have a bad habit of lining cops down the downramps to the highway and a single cop standing in the middle of the overpass with a laser gun tagging everyone that passes beneath. I saw the cop and the laser gun and thought there was no way the M20 would be able to return fire at such a steep up angle, especially since due to my car’s design I had to mount the emitters near the bottom by the fog lights. I wouldn’t even have blamed the M20 if it didn’t manage to block the laser.

To my amazement, it actually worked, managed to block the laser almost straight up, and saved me from what I will only describe as a ticket that could have resulted in jail time. I still have the M20 kit, but will purchse the M25 without hesitation because peace of mind is priceless.

One thing I do strongly recommend to everyone else is you must combine this kit with a quality radar detector, for me my V1 is second to none; when I put the two together cops do not stand a chance, typical detection distances are over 5 miles.

I can completely confirm what others have posted here. The M25 works. You MUST mount the heads correctly – i have them no more than 18″ away from either my front plate or my headlights. Fortunately, my car offers close to ideal mounting positions in the front grill. On the flip side, my car has a boatload of shiny chrome up front. I thought that so much reflectivity would push this thing to its limits. If it wasn’t recommended by Alex Roy I never would have thought the M25 could actually work.

Alex is also correct about the Valentine 1, which for more than 10 years I’ve come to rely upon totally. Once the laser warning goes of though – you might as well start reaching for your license, ins, and registration.

I love a good road trip, and the left front seat of my VW is my favorite place in the world. Since I’ve installed the M25 it has stomped every single attempt to laser me (approx a dozen times) from one side of this country to the other. I am not kidding. I have nothing to do with the company except for being one of their most completely satisfied customers. I had professional installers do all the work except for me showing them exactly where I wanted to have the emitter heads installed. All told, i think the whole bill was around $600. The M25 has paid for itself 3 or 4 times over in saved ticket costs and insurance rate hikes.

For me, this thing is so good I hesitate to promote it because I don’t want the revenue officers to adapt.

No one should ever drive recklessly. Ever. Drive like a jerk and I hope the cops catch you as soon as possible. However, if you’re sick of getting tix for 85 in a 65 by Roscoe and his laser gun then I think you know what your next move is. The M25 is the Real Deal.

Excellent product works like a charm. I have had it for two months and since I have a lead foot, it has saved me at least three tickets.

I have tested their products and they do no work as advertised. They do provide low end radar and laser detection, but for the price you can buy much better units from reputable radar detector makers. They do not scramble laser or radar used by police to prevent you from getting a ticket. Be sure to Google Rocky Mountain Radar BEFORE you buy one of their products. If you still end up buying one of their products, I have some bridges I’d like to sell to you. Here is a video with a review showing how their products don’t work, and that fake documentation was given to the news network to say it works:

I like the volume, it is loud and clear. auto mute mode it is very good also.I can not tell if the screambler works or not, it is very difficult to prove that.
but I am happy with this unit.

I bought this product a few months ago. Definetly saved my butt many times. Lots of great features and the fact that they pay your speeding tickets is a wonderful perk!!

head to k-mart or wal-mart or a truck stop and save a lot of money before you invest in this thing, i have been buying radar detectors for as long as i can remember and you can find a better unit for less dollars anywere. if you want a automatic dore opener detector this thing is for you, if not save your money and buy a cobra or send a friend ahead of you with a cell phone and let them call you with speed trap info. my broken cobra works better than this thing. thats $200.00 not so well spent. i cant believe amazon carries this product.

  • 11 Kyle

Has pretty good radar detecting capabilities and can give out fairly good warning to stationary cameras and hand held lasers, but can be picked up by the mobile Spectre III (Stalcar III) from over a kilometre away which is sometimes further away than the detector can pick up the radar!!!!
Good value if you throw it out the window before the coppers pick you up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was referred to this product by 2 of my friends, after using this for 3 months I can only tell one thing , GOOD LUCK. It may be the one of the best for under 50 dollars, but if you can afford better one go for it, The problem I saw is, it only detects cop radar 50% of times, mostly it beeps during useless times, like cop going in opposite lane or in front of walgreens. I saw cop for about 3 or 4 times, waiting on shoulder, but my radar did not detect it, but couple of times it did pick the radar. I hope this review was helpful.

  • 13 Quinonez

the item rcvd in new blister pack , but after 3 weeks noticed the volume was down and cannot get it to increase.
debating whether to send it to “K.A.T.” for repair.

  • 14 Geibel

This detector, and any other product from this manufacturer are very basic detectors with no scrambling capabilities whatsoever. They are frauds. Numerous independent research companies have determined that no added technology aside from detection technology exists within the casing of any of this company’s products. Stay clear.

I think this product is great. It has saved me many times and seems to work perfectly. I would recommend this for purchase to anyone.

I have lost count on how many tickets this baby has saved me – it’s not quite the best one on the market, but for the bucks paid, works extremely well.
