  I really like the radar detector and it has saved me. The suction cups seem to get jacked up and wont stick until they get hot.

  I drive a small, fast sports car and tend to have a heavy foot. This Belton V955 even alerts me to radar over hills and far enough away to take corrective action. Love it, love it, love it.

  works like a charm. saved me a couple times already. only issue is the winshield mounting hardware – doesn’t stick well. good purchase/value.

  I have used this product on a few road trips so far and it has saved my butt once so far.
  To really see how well the product worked, my friend and I drove on a street that has a road sign that tells you your speed. It picked up the road sign from about 3-4 football fields away while heading towards the sign. After we passed it, it still picked it up for about half a football field. So I think that should be more than enough room to slow down.

  I have owned this for over two months, and it has never failed to warn me that a cop is in the area. It provided plenty of warning to safely slow down. It will also make a couple of beeps at the volume that you set it, then will go to a quite tone. That is probably the best feature on the unit. The only downside is that if there are a lot of road work signs on the highway, you will get a fair amount of K band false alarms. Overall, you can’t beat this for the money!

  Since I bought this detector, I have driven about 5000 miles and it has warned me numerous times. The auto mute feature gives you a reasonably loud beep or two, but does not drive you crazy in scenarios when you cant spare a hand to hit the mute button. I have been extremely satisfied.

  I bought this detector to replace an old Cobra unit that had died. I drive about 65 miles each weekday to and from work, so having a radar detector gives me peace of mind. When I first plugged in the Beltronics unit, everything seemed fine, but the first time it went off I almost jumped out of my skin! The default setting for the volume is apparently set to maximum, and this is a jarring setting. It took a while to figure out how to lower the volume to something more manageable. Now I just need to figure out why I’m getting alerts when there is no obvious source.

  After the initial experience, I’ve been very happy with the Beltronics V995 detector. I especially like the locking mechanism for the mounting bracket, but I can also attach it to the Velcro on the dashboard.

  Excellent product..my last detector was stolen by personnel at Motel 6 and I opted to replace it in kind..had a 985 before and spilled soda on it..great units..never had a problem and always got great satisfaction

  I have used several basic radar detectors over the years, with relative ease and success. However, I thought it might be time to invest in something with a little more technology, given the technology different agencies use on the roads. This item was very well rated on various consumer sites and they reports were correct. Very easy to use. Data feedback was clear and accurate. Worth the investment.

  Product failed after only 2 years. Beltronics quality has gone downhill.
  Do not buy, unless you only need it for a short time.

  I now have owned this radar detector for a little over a month and it has already saved me a few times. I bought the hard wire kit so it comes on automatically when I start the car. Well worth the extra money. There have been no false alarms and it does not go off when you pass commercial property alarms. So when it does go off you know that it is real! I would highly recommend over paying $500 for the Escort. Good value for the money.

  Very good detector, senses K band 1/2 -3/4 mile away. At first it false detected KA quite a bit but found out the setting in the programs was for International instead of USA. Easy to change. Went by a laser the other day did not detect although he was pointing at another vehicle.

  Good controls for adjusting volume, display, brighteness. Highly recommend to others and very good value from Amazon.
